“Surrealist American Silent Shorts, and the Great Buster Keaton”

Original music by Ed Ruchalski accompanying 3 short silent films that reflect different surrealist styles and ideas. Instrumentation includes saxophone, trumpet, French horn, trombone, electronics, and various percussion instruments.

  • The Fall of the House of Usher (James Sibley Watson and Melville Webber, 1928) based on the short story by Edgar Allan Poe – 13 minutes
  • The Life and Death of 9413: a Hollywood Extra (Robert Florey and Slavko Vorkapić, 1928) – 13 minutes
  • One Week (Buster Keaton and Edward F. Cline, 1920) – 25 minutes
